Cheerson CX-20 – Introduction

In the now crowded world of radio controlled drums, the Cheerson CX-20, a product made in multiple versions, undoubtedly stands out and promises at a low cost to have a system capable of comparing with DJI Phantom caliber models. In this special, we see the Open-Source model.

However, it must be an important premise, my advice before going to articles of this magnitude is to learn to command a quadcopter from a smaller and very low cost model. I also recommend to experience outdoor flying only in areas permitted by current legislation and in any case to use it in open meadows and without busy roads or homes, let us remember that in the case of the Cheerson CX-20 we are flying an object weighing almost a Kg, definitely dangerous in case of accidental fall!

Our Opinion

We tried the Cheerson CX-20 under various conditions of use and proved to be a very stable and efficient quadricopter. Compatibility with Phantom DJI components (battery, propellers, helix propellers) gives you an edge over other drones in this price range. Its main scope of use is video shooting, so the moving speed has been deliberately limited to avoid exaggerated jumps when shooting. This feature, on the one hand, benefits stability, but on the other, it limits us to strong wind conditions where the Cheerson CX-20 is somewhat complicated to stabilize.
